The landing process
Landing depends on the direction and speed of the wind near the ground. For safety, there are wind speed limits that determine whether you can fly or not. During landing, the pilot uses several ropes that control a valve, known as the parachute valve, located at the top of the balloon. This valve helps cool the air inside the balloon and control descent.
To land, the pilot chooses an area based on his observations of the wind and begins to descend toward that point. This place must be safe and free of obstacles. The pilot controls the descent using the burner and parachute valve to ensure a smooth and controlled landing.
Where can they land?
The answer is complex. In extreme situations, it can be landed almost anywhere if safety is at risk. However, under normal conditions, the pilot looks for areas that are unplanted, free of animals, and open. Fenced fields or fields with obstacles are avoided.
